The first weekend of Blast only shows are in the books. Listenership was very good and participation great.

Blast has the feel of “DJ’ing” like I remember. Finding the right DAW for you is key. There are several good products out there. The concept is simple. If you can play it on your computer or phone, you can broadcast it in Blast. 

Operational freedom is refreshing and the fact that the listener doesn’t need to have a streaming account is essential. Most active music listeners do have Apple Music or Spotify, but not all. This way the playing (no pun intended) field is level for everyone. I was hesitant to get too involved  with Blast in the beginning but I’m finding it more liberating and fun. Who knows, maybe more shows will “pop up” on Blast.

GroupMe was used pretty decently and a few cool features were discovered. For those that don’t care to chat, they have the option of not downloading GroupMe. It’s fairly straightforward and I have yet to delve into all of the features. With time, I believe listeners will enjoy it and maybe someday, Blast will incorporate chat into the app. For now, we have an alternative for those who enjoy the in-show chat.
